Apple TV screensaver no longer displays my photos

Home Sharing with Apple TV
I have the latest Apple TV update. Two updates ago, the screensaver stopped being able to use my photos. I have Homesharing turned on in both my Mac and my Apple TV. I am on the same network. Nothing has changed except that I updated the Apple TV software when prompted. I called Apple and they said they couldn't help me unless I paid $19. They suggested I turn everything off, and then back on again. I did. Still none of my pictures show up. Very frustrating. Can anyone help?

I have this same problem. The Apple TV (2d Gen) will play movies, TV shows and music from my Apple TV, but will NOT display the photos. When I go to the "Computers" icon on the main menu, it will not show "photos" anymore. I restarted the ATV, and it worked for about 10 min, then disappeared. When I go to the "screensaver" option on the "General" menu, and select my home sharing photos, it just shows that it is trying to load for a long time and then tells me to connect the photos with homesharing on my iTunes. Frustrating...it should work, it used to work, and since I updated the ATV software in Dec, it only works intermittently.

There may be something on the network that doesn't work with the new updates. Have you tried restoring the Apple TV.

Yes, I have unplugged and replugged in the router.
This all worked perfectly until the ATV updates; that's what's confusing me.

OK, so obviously the photos aren't the problem, it's a network issue, your Apple TV isn't connecting to your computer. Have you tried restarting the router.

When I go to Computers on ATV: immediately the message says "loading (my) library" The spinning gear spins and finally gives me a message that it "could not connect." Tells me to make sure HomeSharing is on, and to have everyting on the same network.
When I go to Settings on ATV, and click on Computers, the only option is "Turn off Homesharing."

I have disabled/re-enabled home sharing on both the Mac and the ATV.
When I go to computers on the ATV, it tries to load my photo library and returns an error message for me to make sure homesharing is turned on and that both devices are on the same network. Homesharing is definitely turned on on both, and they are both on the same network.

Is this the only thing that doesn't work, do these photos show up in the computers > photos section, have you tried disabling/re-enabling home sharing.

And have you checked that they are still selected in iTunes.

Oh, yes, I have chosen the photos. I have 200 photos in an Event file called Apple TV. These showed up beautifully for many months until I updated the ATV software 2 updates ago. I was hoping the latest update (last week?) would solve the problem, but it persists.
