Using the Mac mini
Hello:
I am having this new Mac Mini, and since I got it, I started to experience internet connection problems. In my home, I use my android phone (Sumsang Google Galaxy Nexus) to tether all my iPad, Macbook Air, iPod Tough, PC desktop and laptop. The very first time after I set up my Mac mini, the internet was working fine. Then after a few days, problems occured. The problem is: when I connect my Mini wifi, my internet will get stuck: the icon shows that I am connected to the wifi, but internet just cannot connect or run extremely slow, (slow as like 45 seconds to open google.ca) . Same problem occurs with the USB tethering. (I install a driver called HoRNDIS, which allows Mac to run Android phone tethering.)
Here is what I have done. I contact the Cell Phone provider many times and I was instructed to reset the phone again and again. It helps for just a brief moment because of the refreshing of IP address, and the problem is back again. If I turn off Mac Mini, it seems that i can use my Macbook Air and iPad. Things seem to be normal. There is drop connnection sometimes, but much better than using the Mini. So my question is: what is the difference in the wifi hardware between Mac mini and Macbook Air? Why the Air works better with Android than Mini. I actually did a time machine installation in Mini using the backup from the Air.
The OS X I am using is 10.8.3 in Mini, and 10.7 in Air. Mini has a 2.5 i5 CPU 4G memory, and Air has a 1.7 i5 and 4G memory.
Thanks in advance!
Don
