Expanding the Power Mac
I have installed 4 x 1gig memory chips into my G5 but only two of the four chips are being recognised. Anyone know why that would be? I triple checked that I pushed them in properly

Do the DIMMs you have meet those specs? Who manufactured them, what brand are they?
If you go to the apple, left side of menu bar, About This Mac, More Info, System Report, Hardware, Memory what does it show for the four memory slots?

Also, what machine do you have? You show Mac OS X 10.6.8 but a G5 will not run that, they can only go to 10.5.8.

Go to http://www.everymac.com and find the machine...most of the G5 1.8 GHz only would use 2 GB ram.
